Saints and Sages of All Religions

This page is dedicated to those human beings  who  felt an inner calling and raised their spiritual aspirations to connect with the awareness of infinite consciousness within.  These beings manifested that truth they had found, and tasted and offered it to others.  In so doing they became beacons of light for those seekers working to find their way out of the dark.

The mind creates a believable hypothesis about the world and from birth humans are weaned on the touch of material reality and continually surprised by the pain so easily given by their own kind.  There is an unrealistic definiteness about reality that makes one second guess the situation of their lives that seems so real but yet they know there is something  about themselves that is beyond mortality.

These saints epitomize a knowledge of consciousness that has made them internationally recognizable and sought after for their understanding of truth.

Self Realization Lessons does not consider luminaries as Guru’s, but human beings who have all the same laws of nature applied to them and taught truth to their fellow man in spite of the mind and ego.  Through various meditation techniques these individuals gained insight and realized the True Self that exists beyond the rational mind.  Techniques for Self realization should not be held as a secret only to be given to those who are deemed worthy by some organization or individual.  Nor should the Guru disciple relationship be a sole criterion for one to receive the knowledge that through work can yield untold spiritual rewards.

One should be cautious of spiritual teachers who indicate a secret teaching from a long line of Gurus for this is ego manifesting.  If one is unable to teach you on their own merit, by their own experience, but must rely on disciples or your acquiescence to their method justified by who they represent, don’t listen to another word  just turn and walk away!  It is possible to be taught by an enlightened one who has passed from the physical plane, try it and you will see results.

Understand that the practice of certain breathing (raja yoga) techniques require a certain degree of bodily health.  Elimination of  such habits as smoking, drinking and taking drugs and other behaviors that reduce the body’s ability to perform at its peak are all reasons to limit one from receiving a full initiation.  Consider how fragile and subtle the body really is and understand that playing with your energy irresponsibly can have a major adverse affect on health.  A great saint (PY) once said that the human body has enough energy stored in it to light the city of Chicago.  Should someone with an unsound or intoxicated body practice certain techniques they could take their bodily energy and do physical and spiritual harm to themselves.  The same Yogi also said drinking and smoking is spiritual suicide.

This site is dedicated to the practice of Kriya Yoga, as taught by Lahiri Mahasay.  It is a method not to be taken lightly, but cautiously, methodically and with devotion.  With dedication and unwavering pursuit of infinite consciousness, you will glimpse the depth of your true Self in your chosen technique.  This is not only possible, but a right of the human condition as these luminaries have demonstrated by their example and chosen teaching.

My yoga practice has been influenced by these saints, and I have either read their books, met them in person or follow their instruction.
