MEDITATION TECHNIQUE USING AFFIRMATION
This technique can be done any time, while working, walking before bed whenever you desire to use it. For the purposes of this instruction let’s consider using a meditation technique during work be it at home or in an office.
We all breath, how often during the day do you remember that you are breathing? Many become so involved in their lives they never take time to notice the breath. The mind is always in constant activity and many live in this kind of life, rarely remembering who is breathing them. If you want to remember who breaths you just try to stop. When you came into this life the breath is with you and when you leave this life, it too leaves, so enjoy it! You are in a rhythm with the universe connected by breath. It sounds simple but the most powerful thing you can do during the day is to simply remember the breath.
During the day when you stop and watch the breath, focus until you feel the body cells relax, feel the mind clear, then begin to focus that the “infinite is breathing in, the infinite is breathing out.” You will find that watching the breath will stop the minds focus, as if you are putting a bit in a horse’s mouth, you are now in the saddle of control.
Consider an affirmation that is important to you such as success through cooperation with others. As you breath concentrate on you affirmation with emotion in a giving sense, expressing universal kindness for the blessing you are charging with your affirmation. Repeat from a centered place, “Thank you for this success that flows to me, may I give to others as I have been given to!”.
Establish intent during the day to stop and remember the breath. If it is possible set a soft alarm to go off every hour then remember to do the breath focus, get on the horse and ride your sense of relaxation into meditation. What is happening is that you are changing your “state” so that your decisions during the day are from a place that is centered, that is the “true” you, not the you that is mentally caught in the days activities without a walk in the park with awareness of your breath.
Consider that when you are caught up in a project or job and become so intent that you are completely concentrated on performing the task at hand, you are in a mental groove and you seem to forget time. You are in a certain state while you are working the project and interruptions come up for whatever reason. When those come up and they always do what is your reaction?
This will give you an understanding of your “state”; if you scream TURN OFF THAT DAMN TELEVISION I AM WORKING! Or you calmly breath after coming out of your focus due to the interruption and breath your affirmation, then respond to the break in focus, what you have done is control your mental awareness to come from a more centered place, through something as simple as the breath. Let us never forget the power of this simplicity, because it is the breath of life that sustains us.
As you use this technique more often during the day on an hourly basis you will begin to get a greater hold on your “state” and not be as susceptible to jumping to an angry response per the example stated.
The point to remember is that by living in a clam state of mind during the day, while you are working, cleaning house, cooking food, taking care of others you will be able to be more effective at the tasks at hand, be more perceptive of your own creativity and be able to place in proper perspective your relationship to the greater good that your efforts are here to provide.
MEDITATION TECHNIQUE USING CONTEMPLATION
Many of us place limits on our potential without ever realizing it. We have created barriers to our success or the turning point in our lives by a comfort zone that we don’t realize is a little restricting. This meditation practice involves the use of contemplation, some will say this is visualization but let us differ on this point, as this is a method of allowing evolution of our inner expression to grow within. The unleashing of our innermost positive creative potential before our minds eye will be a significant step to our growth unleashing us from the illusions we have placed around us.
For example, if someone asked you to contact a movie star, anyone that rings a bell with you as a super star icon what is your immediate reaction? No way! Can’t be done I’m not even going to try that. Then all the mental reasons “why not” start coming to solidly put in place a fence around you building upon the sense that this is an insane idea. Wow glad that one is over!
Actually, what we have just done is show you how the mind works when confronted with a concept or idea that intimidates us. Why is that so? Because we have allowed ourselves to be boxed in by our thoughts to a certain comfort level and have not developed a way to unleash our potential. This may be fine for some people, they may not wish to expand their horizons and that is fine. This exercise is for those who wish to expand their horizons.
This exercise will take at least fifteen minutes in the morning and evening. It will require you to find a quiet place where you will not be interrupted and that you have an small notebook and pen close by. It is preferable to be in a straight backed chair so your spine is erect but any comfortable chair will do. Please sit, take off your shoes, place your feet flat on the floor and take an inner tour of your body. Start with the toes of each foot and work your way up the legs, relaxing every part of your body as you go up to the waist, stomach, chest, back, fingers of both hands arms, neck and head. So you have just relaxed your body for about two minutes all areas of tension, if you have seen any have been allowed to relax.
For the next twelve breaths or so just follow the breath through the nose right where the air flows in and out, count the breaths. Next do what is called a balanced breath, where you breath in to the count of twelve and hold for three then breath out to the count of 12 and hold out for three. Do this for about twelve counts, very easy no strain if you come to a more comfortable number, then use that, the point of this exercise is to do a balanced breath of inhale, hold, exhale hold. For just a few minutes to get the mind more relaxed as you prepare to contemplate.
Let’s say you know your business could take off if you had the support of someone who was a “rock star” in the business you are in, but is so far out of your league that you are completely intimidated about speaking to them, here is the exercise:
Following the balanced breath with eyes closed, picture your business, or your book, or your creation in the point between the eyes and breathe calmly, but picture your creation in a calm state. Now package it in some way, like a book, and hand it to the person who you have given all the power for your success but are intimidated to ask for help. Watch them smile at having been fortunate enough to have received your work; understand that together, both of you will take your creation to the next level resulting in helping many people.. Watch it grow, watch phases of it being implemented on a grander and grander scale, a scale that you never would have thought possible, feel the joyful emotion of helping others and see that this icon is happy to help you because they are able to help others, only because you are have allowed them to help by your offer to work together; watch your creation grow, expand and enliven the hopes and dreams of many.
Now open your eyes and write down your experience. Do this daily until you cannot hold back the joy you feel within, working with this icon such that you two must find a way to contact each other or you will have been shown in your contemplation the steps you need to take to expand your horizon to encompass for the greater good the offer of your work for the benefit of others. With the help of this icon or some other unidentified source that can help show you how to achieve the expression of your business gift for your success and that of everyone involved.
